Our Tuscan Red “Poggio”, or Rosso Toscano “Poggio”, is made following the ancient production code for wine making in the Chianti area. It is mainly made of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes, from our vineyards in Pontassieve, facing South at about 150 metres above sea level. It is aged for about one year in chestnut barrels and subsequently in bottles for several months.
Our Tuscan Red "Poggio" I.G.T. is rated 84/100 points in the 2017 edition of "Guida Oro i Vini di Veronelli".
The Tuscan Red “Poggio” features light ruby red color, rich flavors, dry taste with aromatic persistence, and good structure. It is a perfect table wine, easy to pair any kind of food.
The Tuscan Red “Poggio” is at its best when served young, at 18-22 °C or 64-72 °F. Alcohol 12,5%.
