Our 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon “Voltorio” IGT was rated 89/100 points in the 2017 edition of “Guida Oro i Vini di Veronelli” and awarded two stars, which define “outstanding” wines.
This wine is made of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from our farm in Pontassieve. Its name, “Voltorio”, means “The Vulture Place”, the ancient name of the hills around Pontassieve. The vineyards face a perfect exposure to sun, at about 150 metres above sea level. It is aged for 18 months in oak barrels and subsequently in bottles for several months.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon features an intense ruby red color, rich scents, dry taste and aromatic persistence, and great structure. It is a particularly good fit for meat, game, and aged cheeses.
To be served at 18-22 °C or 64-72 °F. It is advisable to open the bottle a couple of hours before serving. Alcohol 14%.
